David was born July 4, 1950 to Harry James and Martha Mae (Merley) Miller in Lincoln, NE. He grew up in Parkville, MO and was a 1968 graduate of Park Hill High School. Following graduation, David enlisted in the U.S. Marines, serving in Vietnam. He was a rifleman and awarded the Purple Heart, Rifle Marksman Badge, Pistol Marksman Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Civic Actions Color (1st Class) with Palm and Frame. David was a retired metal worker of Ryerson Steel and belonged to the United Steel Workers Union. He enjoyed riding his Honda Gold Wing motorbike.
David was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Diana Miller; and wife, Martha (LeTourneau) Miller.
Survivors include daughter, Krystal Gray; granddaughter Gracelyn Gray; son, Scott Miller; step-daughter, Adrienne Cannella; a brother, Michael (Karen) Miller; nephews, Eric T. Miller and Michael Scott Miller, Jr.
Graveside services are 10:00 AM Monday, July 15, 2024 at Leavenworth National Cemetery where David will be laid to rest with military honors. Contributions may be made to Interim Hospice.
