David Merrick

David Thomas Merrick, 52, of Parkville passed away on February 20, 2014 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Therese Catholic Church, 7207 NW Highway 9, Kansas City, MO. A visitation and viewing is scheduled for March 1, from 8:00 to 9:30 AM at McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City.

David was born March 20, 1961 to George J. and Margaret Williams Merrick in East St Louis, IL. He grew up in Hermann, MO and moved to Kansas City in 1979. David met and married Elizabeth Cordero in December, 1997. The newlyweds traveled to The Philippines, Elizabeth’s homeland, for a church ceremony with her family on January 10, 1998.

David excelled as a Senior Sales Associate at Saverino & Associates. He was a member of the Filipino Association of Greater Kansas City and enjoyed gardening and dancing.

He is survived by his beloved Elizabeth, of the home, brother George Merrick, Jr., sisters Cheryl Passanise and Mary Jane Brown, nieces Denise, Georgia and Rebecca, nephews Jeffrey, Aaron, Jason and Jack, and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.

Memorials contributions are suggested to the Pancreatic Cancer Association. Arr. under the direction of McGilley Antioch Chapel, Kansas City.
