DAVID W. LINDQUIST David W. Lindquist, 84, Overland Park, KS, passed away, September 1, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. David Wyatt was born December 24, 1931, in Kansas City, MO, to August N. and Charlotte Lindquist. He was raised in the Shawnee Mission area. He is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mission, KS. David met Mayre Lou in their early school years and married at the original Trinity Lutheran Church at 57th and Nall by Rev. Harlan Hartner on Aug. 10, 1950. To this union, five children were born. David began delivering milk for his father’s dairy, A. Lindquist Dairy, at the age of 11; developing his exceptional work ethic at a young age. David then worked for Country Club Dairy, until he went to work for Holiday Sand & Gravel in 1954, finally retiring in 1995. David was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 61.5 years Mayre Lou, 3 brothers, a son-in-law John T. Dods, a daughter-in-law Dixie A. Lindquist, special neighbor and best friend for over 60 years Jeanne Woolworth. He leaves behind his son, Stephen; daughters, JoAnne Dods, Deborah and James Crow, Catherine and Chris Vinzant, Lori and Darren Huhs; 12 grandchildren, Brad, Sarah, Jesse, Korie, Danny, Emily, Brian, Ryan, Ashley, Robyn, Evan, Hannah; 13 great-grandchildren, Anna, Felicity, Jayce, Kaylee, Cody, Bella, Briar, Wyatt, Zach, Bentlee, Hallie, Paisley, Harlow, and one more on the way; sister, Judy and John Miers; sister-in-law, Sheryl and Roy Cozad; brother-in-law Tom and Kelly Davis. David’s parenting did not end with his own children, but extended to Nancy Ann and Paula Sue, who also survive him, the daughters of his dear neighbor. David’s children are grateful to their father for the devotion that he showed in caring for their mother during her long illness and the many lessons that he taught them. He lived out his wedding vows to love his wife in sickness and in health, a shining example for his family. Visitation will be Fri., Sept. 9, at 1pm at Floral Hills with funeral at 2 PM. Burial to follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
