David Allen Howard Jr.

David was born on January 16, 1960, to David Allen Sr and Carolyn Howard. He grew up in the Northeast area of Kansas City. David was called Bub or Bubby throughout his school years then switched to using his formal name – David or Dave – after he graduated from Northeast High School.

David’s career was that of a carpet layer. He preferred commercial clients and contracted with customers under his business name One Step Installation. He enjoyed boating, riding his motorcycle, and was always working on a couple of trucks.

For the last 30 years, David lived in Raytown, where he meticulously refurbished the house that he had purchased, placing custom rugs that he had made in all of the rooms. It was there where he developed a longtime friendship with his neighbors Tony and Anita Mesa and their children Amanda and Eric.

All who knew David enjoyed being around him.

David was preceded in death by his father, David Allen Howard Sr. He is survived by his mother Carolyn Reeds, his sisters Deborah Loomis (Darrell) and Tamara Marsalla (Frank), his nieces Sally McIlvaine and Darcy Loomis, his nephews Dominick Guarino, Anthony Marsalla, and Daniel Loomis, his dear friends James and Tracy Carpenter, and neighbors and dear friends Tony and Anita Mesa.

A visitation will be held at 1:00 on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, followed by a funeral service at 2:00, at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, Missouri 64133.
