Cynthia M. Frederico, aged 76, of Blue Springs, MO, peacefully departed this world on October 13, 2023. Born in Kansas City, MO to Sam and Ethel DiGiovanni, Cynthia’s life was a beautiful tapestry of love and faith.
She dedicated herself as a loving wife, a devoted mother, and an adoring ‘Nana’ to her four cherished grandsons. Cynthia’s faith was the cornerstone of her existence. She was an active and committed member of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish in Blue Springs, where she served in various capacities, including Women’s Ministry, RCIA instruction, Altar Ministry, arts and crafts, and the St. Joseph Table.
Among the Saints she held dear, Padre Pio was her favorite, and she often sought his intercession through her heartfelt prayers. Known for unwavering devotion to the Holy Mother, Cynthia was a devout Rosary practitioner. Whenever someone faced a challenge, her first question was, “Did you pray the Rosary?” If the response was affirmative, she would lovingly advise, “Pray it again.” Many attest to the transformative power of her support and prayers on their Catholic journeys.
Within her family circle, Cynthia radiated warmth and wisdom. Her family was her universe, and she was a constant source of guidance, whether offering personal advice or sharing her culinary expertise. She generously imparted her treasured family recipes to nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cynthia’s passion for cooking was only eclipsed by her talents in needlework, decorating, and sewing. She gained fame for the countless Christmas stockings she lovingly crafted for family, friends, and even pets.
Cynthia was the go-to person for genealogy inquiries, enthusiastically sharing her knowledge of family history and distant relatives. She embraced her extended family, considering many as dear as blood relations.
Cynthia leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her beloved husband, Michael Frederico; her sons Sean DiGiovanni (Gretchen) and Travis Cahill (Amy); and her cherished grandsons, Sam DiGiovanni, Paul DiGiovanni, Jack DiGiovanni, and Ryder Cahill. She is also fondly remembered by her brothers and sister, Joe DiGiovanni (Cynthia), Ronnie DiGiovanni (Jackie), and Maria Howard (Tommy).
Cynthia is preceded in death by her parents, Sam DiGiovanni and Ethel DiGiovanni. Services will be held Friday, October 27, 2023 at St. Robert Bellarmine, Blue Springs; Visitation 9:30am to 11:30am;11:30 a.m. remarks by family and friends; Rosary 12:00 PM and Funeral Mass of Christian Burial 12:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to St. Robert Bellarmine Women’s Ministry.
