Constance McGlinchey Schneeberger, 71, died peacefully in her home on February 9, 2015. Born on July 3, 1943 in Raleigh, NC to Francis and Eloise (Baker) McGlinchey, Connie grew up in Indianapolis, IN. She attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Grade School and graduated from Scecina Memorial High School in 1961. Inspired by her love of travel, Connie joined American Airlines as a stewardess. She “retired” in 1965 to marry Howard Schneeberger, Jr, a pilot that she met on a blind date while based in Nashville, TN. In 1986, Connie went back to work for the airlines as a TWA Flight Safety Instructor, and then as a Pilot Recruiter in 1998, also for TWA. She was a member of St. Thomas More Parish in Kansas City.
Connie was preceded in death by both parents and her sister Andrea Matthews. She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Howard; her daughter, Maureen McDaniel of Overland Park, KS; her son Mark Schneeberger of Leawood, KS; her grandchildren, Kathleen, Ellen and Bridget McDaniel, and Matthew and Kate Schneeberger; her siblings, Terry McGlinchey, David McGlinchey, Joan Tanksley, and Mark McGlinchey, all of Indianapolis, IN, and Marilyn Schwegman of Detroit, MI; her brothers-in-law Jerry Schneeberger (Meg) of Cary, NC, John Schneeberger (Heather) of Wellesley, MA, and Paul Schneeberger (Sue) of Williamsville, NY; and 28 nieces and nephews who adored their Aunt Connie.
A visitation will be held Sunday, February 15th from 5-7 p.m. at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Rd, Kansas City, MO. 64145, where the Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, February 16th at 11:00 a.m. St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131, with interment immediately following at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Notre Dame de Sion School in Kansas City, MO.
