Charles Nathaniel Newsome

Charles served our country in the United States Air Force from 1948 to 1952. He then went on to work for Bendix in Kansas City as an Electronic Technical Supervisor. Charles married Mildred Irene Bridgewater of Springfield, Missouri on December 26, 1952. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. In addition to spending time with family, he was an avid bowler and loved fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Mason Newsome, Thomas Newsome, Ilene Smith, Pauline Smith, and Annelle Peavy. Charles is survived by his wife Mildred Irene Newsome; daughter Patricia "Patty" Ann Ward and husband Mark; son Robert Nathaniel Newsome; son Kenneth Lee Newsome and wife Julie; grandchildren Kelly and husband Michael Pratt, Debbie and husband David Maxwell, Shawn and wife Delaina, Heather and husband Jerry Gibbs, Ashley and husband Travis Colster, Stephanie Newsome and Michelle Newsome; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 12, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
