Cecilia Sue Miller

Cecilia “Sue” Miller, 81, of Kansas City MO, passed away on November 10, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospice House. She was born on November 16, 1940 in Atchison, Kansas to Robert Louis (Bob) Miller and Mary Elizabeth Muncie (Mickey) Miller who preceded her in death. She graduated from Lillis High School in 1957 and lived in Kansas City most of her life. Sue worked at Old American Insurance Company and Kansas City Life Insurance. A devout Catholic, Sue was involved in several charities and organizations including KC Shepherd’s Center for several years. Sue enjoyed spending time with her cats, gardening, KC Chiefs, painting, ceramics, knitting, cross-stitch, and organizing the Miller family reunions. She also enjoyed traveling, visiting Germany, France, Hawaii, Mexico, the Seattle World’s Fair and other sites. Sue was fond of American Indian culture and attended several Pow-Wows. Sue was a loving sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She often met with her friends to attend dinner theaters.

Sue was preceded in death by her younger sister, Bonita “Bonnie” Miller Morrison of Ardmore, OK, and her nephew, Jason Thomas Miller of Kansas City, MO. Sue is survived by her two brothers, Robert Louis “Bob” Miller, Jr. and his wife, Carol, of Ft. Myers, FL, and William Bernard “Bill” Miller and his wife, Maureen, of Kansas City, MO; five nieces and five nephews.

A visitation will be held 10:00-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 10 at McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Rd. Kansas City, MO 64119, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations are requested to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 2 E. 75th St., Kansas City, MO 64114 (www.stekc.org), or to the charity of your choice.
