Carolyn Joyce McCaulley

Carolyn Joyce Sides McCaulley, 80, of Lee’s Summit, MO, passed away on Sunday April 23, 2023. She was born on July 23, 1942 to Garth and Helen Sides in Neelys Landing, MO. She was raised in historic Northeast and attended Northeast High School. She was a member of the Central Assembly of God church.

Carolyn was a respected and valued worker in both retail and food service. She was known for her keen sense of humor and knowledge at the Blue Ridge Mall’s Woolworth store as parts manager and the mall’s Montgomery Ward store as a manager of the paint department. She greeted customers for many years at the Big Boy restaurant keeping both customers and fellow employees well served with wit and service. She knew cars and assisted in restoring them as well as driving them, never too fast but with a fun foot. She loved to travel and visited 47 states and Canada experiencing the beauty and majesty of the outdoors, oceans and mountains as well as the wildlife and peace of nature.

Carolyn is predeceased by her parents Garth Sides, Eldon Sides, Helen Sides, her ex-husband Richard McCaulley, daughter Debbie McCaulley and brother James (Pete) Weldon Sides. She is survived by 2 sisters Vicki Sides Kirkpatrick (husband Frank), Eldonna Sides Davis (husband Bob), 4 children Joyce McCaulley, Gene McCaulley (wife Terri McCaulley), Terri Hobbs, Dana McCaulley (wife Karla McCaulley), 13 grands, 16 great grands, 2 great great grands, 3 sister-in-laws Georgann Carter, Sharon Ketchum, Mildred Brown, 1 brother-in-law Roy McCaulley. She also leaves behind treasured aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
