Caroline was born on October 12, 1930, in Moberly, Missouri to Otto Anton Kiesel and Marie Catherine Eichenberger Kiesel. Coming from a large family, Caroline had four siblings: Mary Ann, Oliver, Bill and Eva, who have all passed away. Caroline graduated from St. Pius X High School, in Moberly, Missouri.
After her school years, Caroline continued working for her family’s farm in Moberly, Missouri. and eventually moved to Kansas City and began working for a drugstore. At this drugstore, she met Bill Jo Patton, who she married in 1952. The newly married couple moved to Camp Gordon Army Base in Augusta, Georgia, when Bill was enlisted in the Army. This is where Caroline and Bill lovingly welcomed their son Charles, in 1953. Later on Caroline and Bill moved back to Kansas City, where they introduced their daughter, Judy, to the world in 1954. Caroline understood the importance of raising her children with good religious beliefs, and always tried to implement God into their daily lives. One of the greatest things Caroline did for her children was offer her unwavering support in their lives. More than anything, Caroline was her children’s biggest supporter, and would have done anything for them. No matter what activity it may be, Caroline was always available to be a helping hand to her children.
After moving back to Kansas City from Augusta, Caroline and Bill purchased Fluffy Fresh Donuts, which they owned and operated for decades. During this time, it became very evident how strong Caroline’s work ethic was. More often than not, you could find Caroline working at Fluffy Fresh Donuts with Bill. Despite having opportunities to develop hobbies of her own, Caroline took great pride in running a successful business, and prioritized its success over her own activities outside of work. She eventually retired from Fluffy Fresh Donuts.
As time went on, Caroline and Bill took separate paths. After her separation from Bill, Caroline began attending St. Thomas More Parish in Kansas City, Missouri, where she deepened her connection with Jesus. Caroline later met Paul Montes, who she married in 1992. Caroline and Paul enjoyed a wonderful marriage until his death in 2016. At that time Caroline’s health began to slowly worsen. Caroline eventually moved to Raymore, Missouri, where she was watched over and visited often by her children and grandchildren. Caroline will be missed by so many. Her strong morals, support and love for God have set a great example for generations to come.
Caroline is survived by her son Charles and his partner Donna Eft, and her daughter Judy Ann (Earnie) Bellamy. She is also survived by Judy’s two children, Jamie (Joe) Parsons, and their children Cole and Ruby, as well as Kerri (Ryan) Roots, and their children Elizabeth, Haley, Emily, and John.
The family wishes to express their deepest thanks to Jim Lieker for the incredible support, guidance, and care he has provided to the family throughout the end of Caroline’s life and ultimately her death.
