Bill Delmar Roseman, age 83, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri passed away peacefully on July 11th, 2013 after an aggressive battle with dementia. Bill was born on January 12th, 1930 in Independence, Missouri one of two children to Delmar and Sofia Roseman. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Linda Good of Tucson, Arizona.
Bill graduated in 1947 from North East High School in Independence, Missouri. He married his sweetheart, Betty Reeves on September 30th, 1950. Bill went on to work at various local companies such as Lake City Army Ammunition Plant and Ruperts. He later purchased his father’s business known as Roseman’s Luggage Manufacturing and transformed it into a profitable company, retiring in 1992 after selling the business.
Bill is survived by his wife Betty Roseman; two children Jim and his wife Mary of Lake Tapawingo, Missouri, and Susan and her husband Frank Piburn of Overland Park, Kansas; son-in-law Tim Good of Tucson, Arizona. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren Anne Obersteadt, Daniel Roseman, Sara Roseman, Cammie Piburn, Kristi DeForest, Tiffany Kreimendahl, Michael and Miranda Good, eleven great-grandchildren, his sister Delores Potts, extended family and friends.
Bill was a very compassionate, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who touched so many lives. He loved his water sports and was still skiing at the age of 81. He took annual fishing trips to Canada with his son and grandson where they would compete ruthlessly for the biggest catch both in size and numbers. He was a fearless competitor! Bill was an active member at Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church and he volunteered at Camdenton A.E.L. Learning Lab where he tutored and mentored GED students in Math. Bill loved repairing anything in need of attention. His wife often remarked that no appliances were allowed their proper death with Bill around. Bill and Betty were avid square dancers. Words cannot describe how much he will be missed by all he came into contact with.
The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Bill and Betty’s caretakers, Melody, Amy and Monica Lepper, Amber, Shirley Bowman and Hospice Compassus. He was cared for as if he were their personal family member. Our family was blessed to have found such wonderful care for Bill.
