Betty spent the years since Dale’s passing (8/2007) enjoying her beach front home on Longboat Key, Florida and her golf course facing lanai at her Naples, Florida home.
She found joy in singing to birds, spending time with her family including her new great-grandchildren Peyton and Kayce in Leawood, Kansas, and many holidays and summer trips to Livingston, Montana.
She attended college at Bethany Christian College in Lindsborg, Kansas and worked at Barr - Thorp Electric Company supporting her husband Dale Edward for 13 years. She was extremely proud of the growth of the 100 year old family business.
Betts will most be remembered for her remarkable smile and sunny, positive attitude in every situation in life, as well as her love for God, family and her country. She spent her time caring for countless relatives and nurturing deep, close friendship stemming from her days at Paseo High School (‘ 48 ) and many wonderful lifelong friends through golf as a founding member of Leawood South Country Club.
She is survived by daughter Robin of St. Petersburg, Florida, son Todd, wife Sheila, of Leawood Kansas, and grandchildren Madison Anne (Zachary, great-grandchildren Peyton & Kayce), Chase Dale Edward, and Kelsey Marie, all in the Kansas City area.
A Celebration of Betty's Life will be planned for the spring.
