Betty Louise Schweigerdt

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 24th, at Connection Point Church, 10500 East 350 Highway, Raytown, MO, 64138. Burial Services at Mount Moriah Cemetery South, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO.

Betty was born November 19, 1931 in Kansas City, MO, daughter of Otto and Effie Matthes. She graduated from Missouri Valley with B.S degree in Elementary Education. At Missouri Valley she was an active member in Alpha XI Delta Sorority. She met Fred Schweigerdt at Missouri Valley College and married him September 12, 1953. Betty and Fred built a home in Raytown, MO and lived there for 35 years. Betty was a homemaker and devoted mother to her two children, Richard and Nancy Schweigerdt. In 1991, Betty started a part time job at the Kansas City Royals Stadium at one of the tollgates. Betty held that job for 19 years retiring after the 2009 season. Betty was an active and devoted member at The First Baptist Church of Raytown (Connection Point Church).

Betty is survived by, son, Richard L. Schweigerdt and wife Dawn of Lone Jack, MO; daughter, Nancy L. Schweigerdt of Greenwood, MO; nieces Linda Gilham, Kathy Heptig and Janet Congdon; nephew, Gary Bryan; and six grandchildren, Brent, Bryan, and Jackie Schweigerdt, Rebecca and Lindsey Pollock and Lauren Chavez; and 5 great-grandchildren.
