Betty D. Elliott, daughter of Leonard and Effie Goff, was born on February 3, 1928 in Jefferson City, Missouri and passed away April 14, 2017. Betty went to high school where she met and later married the love of her life, Harold W. Elliott on May 31, 1947. After her husband’s military service, Harold and Betty moved to Kansas City, Missouri where they spent the remainder of their lives.
Betty’s major focus in life was home and family. She was a devoted wife and mother. Only when her children began school did she work outside of the home. She volunteered at the high school her children attended and was home when they were.
Betty was well known in the school setting for her friendliness and infectious smile. She made a difference in many a student’s life. Often these young people were invited into Betty’s home for a meal or just a friendly chat.
In later years Betty worked in the children’s department at Dillard’s Department store. This enabled Betty to keep her grandsons in stylish attire. She always kept her family’s needs in mind.
Betty is survived by two younger brothers Lee and Paul Goff, her daughter Cheryl Bronson, son Jeffrey Elliott, three grandsons, John Trussell, Sam Elliott and Zachary Ledsworth, and five great grandchildren Alexis, Christian and McKayla Ledsworth, and Elliott and Jackson Trussell.
Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 29, immediately followed by a reception at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer &Freeman Funeral Home 10507 Holmes Road.
