Daughter of Felipe Martinez and Fabiana Altamirano Martinez, she is survived by five children, Sene Woodward Gray, Walter Woodward, Randy Woodward, Eddy Woodward, and Scott Woodward, as well as ten grandchildren, Logan, Ashton, Dawson, Isabel, Connor, Alyssa, Emma, Amanda, TJ, and Sean, and four great grandchildren, Jexon, Milo, Drake, and Layne. Jay was preceded in passing by her husband, Grenfell (Ed) Woodward, her oldest son, Grenfell Jr., and her brother, Phillip.
Jay was always full of excitement and energy, and her greatest love was her family. She spent her early years of married life as a dedicated homemaker and mother. She was very proud to raise her six children. She was committed to her goal of instilling good morals and values in all of them. After her youngest started elementary school, she took a job outside the home for the first time. She began working in food service at her children's elementary school, later moving on to work for more than 20 years in the local grocers' deli.
Jay was an active member of Southland Baptist Church. She always talked about how much she appreciated the interaction, fellowship, messages, and anything to do with church. She greatly enjoyed spending time with the "church ladies".
Jay’s children were all proud to call her mom. The loss of her husband, Ed, several years ago left a space in her heart. Her family grieves her loss, but they take comfort knowing Ed and Jay are together again.
