William Leroy Lofton, 74 of Edwardsville, KS passed away on September 30th, 2024. William was born in Warrensburg, Missouri to Leroy and Frances Lofton. William, affectionately known as Roy, worked as a machine operator for much of his career. Roy was also president of the Local United Steel Workers Union for over 10 years and took great pride in this role and representing his fellow union members. He had many fond memories as union president and loved to share them.
Roy loved his family very much. Roy is proceeded in death by his parents, Leroy and Frances Lofton, beloved son Shannon Lofton, brothers Delbert and Earl Lofton, and sister Betty Sager. He is survived by sisters Sharon Skaggs, Eva Howe, and Frances Bell. He is also survived by wife Patricia Lofton, 8 children Sheila (Scott) Ensign, Jeffery (Gina) Lofton, Jason (Angela) Lofton, Joshua (Stephanie) Lofton, Meagan Lofton, Mackenzie (Robert) Brady, and Zoe Lofton. 16 Grandchildren Luke (Kala) McCall, Jasmine (Richard) Alexander, Anastasia (Thomas) Lura, Alexandra (Matthew) McCall, Jarod Lofton, Triston Lofton, Mason Lofton, Lillian Lofton, Madison Lofton, Liam Sullivan, Makinley Lofton, Owen Brady, Beau Brady, Macey Lofton, Rosaleigh Brady, Abel Brady. 6 Great grandchildren Eli Smith, Callie Smith, Kaia Alexander, Landon Alexander, Declan Lura, Rowan Lura, and two more great grandkids on the way.
Although he grew up and grew his family, he was still a kid at heart and self-proclaimed badass. He loved comics, Marvel and all things Sci-Fi. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and going to the movies. Most of all, he was a lifelong diehard Kansas City Chiefs fan. Roy had many great qualities but his most memorable is his razor-sharp wit and cunning sense of humor. He was ornery, loved to tell stories, and stir the pot. Roy is going to be deeply missed. “Good morning, we love you. Have a great day. Go Chiefs Go Chiefs Go Chiefs”.
A celebration of life for William will be held Monday, October 7, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Chapel Hill - Butler FH, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, KS 66112.
