BOB WAS A LIFELONG RESIDENT OF KANSAS CITY, KS AND GRADUATED FROM BISHOP WARD HIGH SCHOOL IN 1946. THAT SAME YEAR HE ENLISTED IN THE MARINE CORPS AND SERVED FOR ONE YEAR AT CAMP PENDLETON AS AN MP UNTIL HIS HONORABLE DISCHARGE FOR A FAMILY EMERGENCY.
HE MARRIED JUANITA (NITA) CAROTHERS IN 1953. BOB WAS A LIFELONG, ACTIVE MEMBER OF ST. PATRICK’S CATHOLIC PARISH IN KANSAS CITY KANSAS AS A CANTOR AND A MEMBER OF THE MEN’S GREEN CLUB. BOB AND HIS WIFE NITA ALSO SANG IN THE CHURCH CHOIR AND PERFORMED IN MUSICAL PRODUCTIONS LIKE “FIDDLER ON THE ROOF." BOB AND NITA RAISED 3 CHILDREN AND MULTIPLE “FUR BABIES”. BOB LOVED CAMPING AND MOST OF ALL, HIS FAMILY. HE WAS A DEVOTED FATHER, HUSBAND, GRANDFATHER AND FRIEND TO THOSE WHO KNEW HIM.
LATER IN BOB’S LIFE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT HE WAS ADOPTED. RECENTLY, WE HAD THE PLEASURE OF MEETING HIS BABY SISTER, BEV, AND HER HUSBAND AL. BEV GOT TO MEET HER OLDER BROTHER BOB FOR THE FIRST TIME BEFORE HE PASSED AWAY.
BOB LEAVES BEHIND, 3 CHILDREN, MICHAEL BRUENN (JULIE), MARK BRUENN (LORI), MICHELLE BLAESING (PAUL), 6 GRANDCHILDREN, JEREMY BRUENN (KRISTA), ADAM BRUENN, TYLER BRUENN (KAIT), JASON BRUENN (JILL), KATIE BRUENN (ANDY), EVAN HIGHBERGER, AND ONE GREAT GRANDCHILD, DYLAN.
