Jasmin and Haley and Daphne always remember how much your father adored his princesses and adored his queen your mother Renee.

This picture is when Raul, Luis, Beto and Danny (cousins) arrived in Iowa 1996 at my Grandparents home in Linn Grove, IA. My best memories with Raul is when him and Luis lived with Jaime (his cousin) and I during the winter of 1996. They would not go work when it would snow but they would get called to clean the snow off of the roofs. Raul would opt to stay home because all of the guys were not needed to do that job. Jaime and Luis would go, Raul and I would bake and cook while they were gone. I was pregnant at the time so I loved to bake! We loved making my Grandma’s (her and my Grandpa are the ones in the picture with us) honey wheat bread and when Jaime and Luis would come back (usually we would wait for them) to eat it fresh and warm. I also remember one time he called his sister in Mexico and she gave us instructions to make jericallas and we made them as well. I am still to this day amazed how centered Raul was about work and making an amazing life for himself here in the US, in turn becoming a loving husband and father. May you rest easy Raul and to Renee, Jasmin, Haley, and Daphne may God give you comfort and be with you during this difficult time. With love, Erica Delira (Raul’s cousin Jaime’s wife)

I just wanted to say that there wasn't a day when I worked with your husband and father that he didn't talk about all 4 of you. He loved you all very much! He taught me a lot about doing my job and also about being a good husband and father myself. He is a very special person and you all should be proud! God bless and try to have a Merry Christmas. He would want that for you. If there's anything I can do please don't hesitate!

I worked with Raul and his brother Louie in the field as a crane operator. As I moved into the office I still saw him time to time. There was never a time, not once, where he had a poor attitude or was angry. There are a lot of opportunities to become upset or short with people when you are battling difficult and stressful conditions as a roofer, but I never witnessed Raul to have this mindset. He was always focused on the goal at hand but yet welcomed conversations with an inviting  smile. He was a solid example of a man and it was my pleasure to have known him-I hope the lord makes more men like him. I also hope that his character will still shine on in those he left behind.

Growing up as a kid I never truly realized how much Raul truly did for me, but as I got older I realized how amazing of a person he was. I remember all the times my aunt and my mom would tell me about how Raul would always come and take me to get ice cream, or he would come over and play outside with me, the list could literally go on. Raul and I weren’t blood yet he treated me as one of his own, and I will forever remember him as one of my father figures. I will always be grateful for Raul and carry his memory with me for the rest of my life.
