Mary Louise McDowell

Mary L. McDowell, 88, of Olathe, passed away November 7, 2016 at home. Funeral services will be noon, Thursday, November 10th at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS; with visitation from 11:00-noon at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Mary was born October 23, 1928 in Louisburg, KS to John and Cecilia Seuferling. She graduated from Louisburg High School and married W. G. “Jack” McDowell, Jr. in 1946. Mary worked a variety of jobs, but namely for Russell Stovers and retired from Technical Sales. She loved bowling and traveled the country competing in bowling tournaments. Mary also enjoyed playing bingo, working crossword puzzles, watching Price Is Right and the Food Network.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 66 years, W. G. “Jack” McDowell, Jr., her son, W. Gerald McDowell, III, and four brothers, Leonard, Clarence, Johnny and Edward Seuferling.

She is survived by her children, Keith McDowell (Janice) of KCK, Michael McDowell of Gardner, KS, and Linda McDowell of Gardner, KS; brother, Paul Seuferling of Olathe; sister, Bernadette Debenham of Canyon City, CO; three grandchildren and many great-grandchildren as well as many other family and friends.
