Helen E. (Burgess) Dahl

Helen E. Dahl, 56, of Olathe, KS, passed away July 20, 2014. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 23rd at Chapel Hill – Butler, 701 N. 94th St., KCK. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 24th at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 12800 W. 75th St., Shawnee, KS 66216. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SIDS Resources, Inc., 6400 Prospect – Suite 216, Kansas City, MO 64132.

Helen was born on May 16, 1958 in Vero Beach, Florida to Fred and Betty Burgess. She grew up in KCK and became a Radiology Technician at Shawnee Mission Medical Center before leaving to stay at home to take care of her family. Helen was baptized at St. Patrick Catholic Church and recently was a member at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. She loved to cook, garden and decorate her home, especially for Christmas. If Helen wasn’t at home, she was probably swimming, diving or out on the slopes skiing. She had a great sense of humor and she wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. Helen will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Betty Burgess and her nephew, Logan Burgess.

Helen is survived by her children, Ashley Dahl, Kelly Boswell (Matt), and Erik Dahl (Madison); her grandsons, Nate and Jack Boswell and her little one on the way, Kennedy; her siblings, Sarah Burgess and John Burgess (Debra); her nieces and nephews, Olivia and Owen Burgess; her ex-husband, Tom Dahl; and many other relatives and friends.
