This feels almost impossible, trying to translate a lifetime of memories into a few words for you. I think that the reason this is so hard to write is because it feels so final. But these words aren’t how I’ll remember you. I’ll remember big hugs around a big ol’ Grandpaw belly. I’ll remember big smiles when I told you stories. I’ll remember your funny jokes I could always count on hearing (did you get your ears lowered??) I’ll remember hearing your stories about growing up, and then stories about dad, Uncle Mike, and Aunt Terri growing up. Mostly, I’ll just remember you being there, a constant in my life. I wish that you could have met Ben and been in his life as you were in mine, but I’m glad that I got to tell you about him. 

Your legacy goes on through those whose lives you touched, and you live on through those who you loved and who loved you. 

I know that you were ready to go, but I wish that you could have stayed. I love you, Grandpaw. 

To my brother Harold's son, Gene and  family, my condolences to you all. My heart is broken. I loved him so much. I will miss him sharing meals and just being there with me. He had a heart of gold with no hesitation to help others. 
I will see you again, one day.

I love you papaw, more than words can ever explain. Thank you for being such a big part of my childhood and always making sure we felt so much love from you. I’m very saddened to hear of your passing, I wish you would have gotten to meet my children and I could have gotten one of those sweet bear hugs I always loved before you passed. There’s a big hole in my life now and I hope you remembered how much I loved you. Love you forever and always ❤️
