Anna Darlene Hefton, 79, of Kansas City, Kansas passed peacefully on Monday, October 14, 2024 surrounded by family. After fighting back and making great progress from her stroke in 2021, she was taken from us too soon from complications with lung cancer.
Anna was born October 15, 1944, in Kansas City, KS to Gus and Mary Jacobson. She graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1962. She married Mike Hefton in 1963, and they had three children. She was a stay-at-home mom and homemaker while the kids were young and then she was self-employed as a house cleaner. She enjoyed going to the casino, watching the Royals, the Chiefs and KU basketball.
Anna is survived by her three children, Scott Hefton (Bonnie) of Basehor, KS, Wendy Hefton (Michael Huff) of Kansas City, KS and Jason Hefton (Jenny) of Tonganoxie, KS; their father Mike Hefton of Leavenworth, KS; her grandchildren, Brian Hefton (Katelynn), Kevin Hefton, Haley Hefton, Austin Hefton and Abbi Hefton; her sisters Terri Chop (Jim Gambril) of Tonganoxie, KS and Norita Jones of Denver, CO; brother in law Bill Smith; and 3 nephews and 2 nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Mary Lou Smith of Arkansas.
