Although I never share that passion G-Pa had for golfing, I always enjoyed going golfing with him. Nalu

Surely I am one of many of Danielle's friends who experienced the generosity and kindness of her one-of-a-kind father on several visits to their home in Kaneohe (I think I was a squatter at their home before squatting became a thing! 😉). From what I observed in my numerous lengthy stays, Larry loved unconditionally -never played favorites- but still found ways to make everyone feel special. Huge hugs and positive energy to his true love Patsy, his kids, his grandkids, his siblings, his nieces and nephews, his family and friends who loved him and were lucky to enough to be loved by him. 

💜 The world was a better place with him in it but his memory will live on for generations. 💜

Having known and worked with Larry even before he married his bride, Patsy,   I remember his smile, his mild demeanor , his fantastic insurance sales  skills and his infatuation with Patsy.   I remember being a bride’s maid for their wedding and I remember him visiting us in NY and going to Niagara Falls and playing golf with him in Hawaii and here in New York along with my husband, Jim and celebrating the Seo  25th anniversary here in Albany and I have such warm memories of my recent football fan buddy and how we cheered for each other’s  teams the last few years.   We will always miss him, but hope to join him  one day in Heaven.

Mountain West Golf Tourney 2022- Palm Desert CA

I’ll always remember Uncle Larry’s Aloha spirit, smile, laughter and hospitality. He graciously let us (Chris and I) stay with him and auntie on a few occasions and also my multiple solo visits … the last pictured here in Feb 2019.

He put up with my wino sipping and chick flick chatter with auntie.  The headphones were on his head in no time, hah. He liked his TV loud … to auntie’s chagrin (thus, the headphones) … and he had a love for the game and watching sports. As I recall, his favorite teams are the SF 49ers 🏈 and the St. Louis Cardinals. ⚾️

I have fond memories of his sweet tooth craving for Trader Joe’s cocoa chocolate covered almonds that I’d bring for him from Cali. He could and would eat them anytime of the day or night. He wanted decaf coffee in the morning and the occasional scotch in the evening.

Ohana was important to him, coordinating the family reunions until passing the torch onto the younger generations. The Kona family reunion was when I last saw uncle. It was a fun time and a memory to be cherished forever.

Uncle Larry, you’re deeply missed. 💙

Very sorry to hear of Larry's passing!!
It's been a few years since I was in Hawaii along with Tracy!!
Our Last vist I was lucky enough to stay with Larry and Patsy !
I brought some Newcastle beer which I really liked!! At the time Larry had not had it before well we had a few during the time I was there and I think he still enjoyed it long after that!!
I always liked poke but at that time it was hard to find good poke in San Diego well when Larry found out I liked it he took me to downtown Honolulu to a little market!!
I could not believe my eyes they had Ahi Tuna graded from average to excellent and the best poke I had ever tasted!!
I think we made a couple runs to that market and washed down some poke with Newcastle!!
We will miss you Larry!!
