Hank was like my older brother. He always was there for me. He was family to me and I always invited him to our  family  functions. As my priest reminded. me when my mother died........Tony you have a date also. My daughter told me that she went the other side  and it is beyond description!!!!!!May Hank’s soul RIP.   See you later!!!!

His name was Henry McCorry, but they called him Henny. They were his father and mother, Daniel McCorry, who would not live to see Henny take his first steps, and Cassie McCorry, who would not live to teach him his bedtime prayers. Those pleasures of parenthood were accepted and treasured by John and Helen Magee, who raised Henny as their own in Pinellas County, Fla., far from his McCorry siblings, a family relationship he knew nothing about. 
At 18, Henny learned for the first time that the little girl, Theresa, who signed her letters to him  “Your loving sister,” was not just a friend. Theresa was truly his sister.  He had another sister, Mary, and four brothers, Pat, Danny, Jerry and Frannie.
Henry was a young man, a Navy man, when, driven by curiosity or some vague remembrance, he arrived at Mary’s door. There was a brief reunion, then he was gone. Years passed, years in which five of Henny’s six siblings would leave this world wondering how he was, if he was. There had been a war in Korea, you see. 
But still there was Theresa, and his brothers’ wives, and his sister Mary’s children, who wondered how he was, if he was.  I was one of those children. I was nine when he had appeared at our door so many years before. As girls that age do, I placed myself on his lap, my arms around his neck. So this was Henny. 
Now it was the 1990’s. We had a computer.  I typed in U.S. Navy.  Henry J.  Magee had donated to a veterans’ fund. And there was his birth date, Aug. 1, 1933, the date on the birth certificate I held in my hand, and his location, Honolulu. Henny was found and reunions followed. Now he's gone, but we will meet again.  

Margaret told the McCorry family of Henry's passing. We send our love and condolences to his children. I never met Henry but spoke with him on the phone and through email after the family found him after so many years. My husband, Dennis, was his nephew. The family was so grateful to meet Henry and be in touch with him over these past fifteen years. He is in our prayers.
