Antone "Tony" Candido Jr. age 79 of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, passed away peacefully at home on September 5, 2023. He was born on June 12, 1944. A proud graduate of St. Louis High School, c/o 1962, he served 4 years in the Air Force, and dedicated 39 years to Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, retiring as Superintendent of the Electrical Electronics Shop. Following his retirement, he worked for 4 years for AMSEC. He also dedicated many of his years umpiring softball and baseball for HHSSA and ASA, and volunteered countless hours coaching/umpiring for Waipahu Bobby Sox, Waipahu Little league, and Pearl City Chargers Football.
Tony is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine Candido, and their five children: Michelle (Dain) Fernandez, Regina (Ben) Flores, Marla (Elgin) Arquero, Chad (Tanya) Candido, & Brad (Sunnie) Candido.
He was also blessed with 15 grandchildren: Shailah, Breanne, Shyanna, Brenna, Brayden, Sairah, Dijay, Bransen, Elyssa, CJ, Conan, Mason, Broc, Alynna, and Brax, and his sister, Patricia
Hodges. Tony was preceded in death by his parents Violet & Antone Candido, Sr.; sister Myra Salcedo, and by his two heavenly granddaughters, Brook and Lyllah.
Family & friends are invited to Celebrate Tony’s Life on October 2, 2023, at Hawaiian Memorial Park from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hawaiian Memorial Park Chapel, 45-425 Kamehameha Highway, Kaneohe, Hawaii 96744. A chapel service will occur Monday, October 2, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, 45-425 Kamehameha Highway, Kaneohe, Hawaii 96744. A burial service will occur Monday, October 2, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, 45-349 Kamehameha Highway, Kaneohe, Hawaii 96744.
Visitation: 10:00 a.m.; Services: 11:00 a.m. followed by a reception.
Burial service: 2:00 p.m. at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery.
