Joshua James Daniel Sullivan (Martin)

"Forever Family". Josh lived by those words. His heart was made up of the love he had for his family and his friends which soon became family. Josh was selfless, he would give his last dollar to help a friend or family member in need. Even if he had to borrow it.

As a little boy Josh wanted to be a Power Ranger. This dream came to an abrupt end when he jumped off his bed to fight the mighty Skull and broke his arm. He always loved a good adventure. Josh loved building Lego with Granny and watching The Wizard of Oz... hundreds of times. When he was 3, Uncle Ron would pull him around the living room and through the kitchen in a laundry basket with a rope attached. Josh made sure everyone stayed in good shape. Josh loved playing pool with everyone. He ended up beating all of us by 8 years old, and we were trying. Josh was an amazing baseball player. He played all-star baseball in Marysville and when he moved to Langley, he played BCPBL... premier baseball league. Best in the province. Josh was so good at baseball sometimes we forgot there were other players on the team...everyone cheered his name and were blown away by his talent. Grandpa Sullivan even had Josh autograph his baseball card, it’s still in mint condition.

Josh had a strong connection with his cousins. He would talk about Darien, Hannah, Micayla and Solomon and all the fun they would have together. Josh loved his Aunty Jewel; he could always depend on her for a hug or a helping hand. Josh loved all of his Kamloops family. He loved Grandma Yvonne and Herb, they shared special times together. A very special time they will always cherish was the trips to Marysville for the July 4th celebrations. Josh was always so excited to see them. So many great memories.

Josh loved his Dad. Or as Josh called him as a boy "JIM”. It was hilarious. Eventually Jim became “Dad” again and also coach. Josh loved that his Dad was his coach, and so did the family. Josh and his Dad went to all the Everett Silver Tips games and eventually the Giants games in Langley.

Josh and his Dad were pretty much inseparable...always dreaming and scheming. They worked together, lived together and even had an incredible trip to Vegas together. There was nothing Jim wouldn’t do for his boy, and Josh always looked up to his Dad, they were the best of friends.

Josh had a soft side too, he didn’t tell many about. (Sorry Josh) Josh loved to curl up with his Mom and watch Disney movies or random chick flicks. This is probably why Josh made friends so easily with girls. Josh and Debbie were the best of friends. Unbreakable Love. Debbie and Josh always checked in on each other and looked forward to the evening conversations that always ended with, “I love you”.

Later on, Josh had a couple of new cousins come into his life. Savana and Riley. They absolutely adored him. He was a big kid and he would play with them for hours and also gave the best hugs. Savy says her favourite memory of Josh was there talks on the phone; he always made her smile.

Josh went to work in Fort McMurray when he was 19. He decided to make a pit stop in Calgary and spent a month with Uncle Ron, Aunty Chrystal and little Riley. He loved that time and especially the spiced rum and coke.

Josh got his first tattoo with his friend Colton “West Side”, it was the first of many.

We figure he has already tattooed his wings.

Josh loved animals. Shayla, Tank and most recently Titus were the special dogs in his life. Animals would always go to Josh; he was just that person.

Josh will always be where love is and we will miss you “Forever Family”.

Josh, now it’s your time to follow the yellow brick road.
