A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and doctor to numerous patients passed away on February 27, 2020 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Dr. Willix was born on April 28, 1941 in Newark, New Jersey, to Robert D. Willix, Sr. and Natalie Willix.
Dr. Willix graduated from Seton Hall Prep in 1959, Boston College B.S. Biology 1963, University of Missouri Medical Degree 1969, completed University of Michigan Residency Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery 1975, completed Maharishi Ayur-Veda Physician 1994 and completed Shamanic Training Inka Tradition 2004
Dr. Robert D. Willix Jr, MD, formerly a Board-Certified cardiac surgeon, pioneered the first open heart surgery program in South Dakota. After developing the Cardiac Rehabilitation Human Performance Program at the North Broward Hospital District during the 1980s, he turned his focus to prevention. With a passion for integrative healing. Dr. Willix traveled the world to study acupuncture, Ayurveda Medicine, and the healing ways of Shamanism. He was one of 300 physicians in the United States who is trained in Pulse Diagnosis and he learned a specialized form of acupuncture from world-famous Qi Gong Master, Master Fu.
Dr. Willix was CEO of Enlightened Living Medicine and the Chief Medical Officer and former Director of Energy Medicine at the world-famous Hippocrates Health Institute in Palm Beach, Florida. He was also CMO of LiquiVida Lounge, a company devoted to teaching people that they control their own health destiny.
Dr. Willix authored 15 books and hundreds of newsletters and had traveled around the country as a sought-after speaker. He was a member of several organizations with a focus on innovative medicine and was the recipient of several awards. Dr. Willix was dedicated to changing the paradigm of medicine from a disease-oriented system to a proactive, preventive health approach.
Robert Willix was an avid athlete, including completing fourteen marathons and the Ironman Triathlon in Kona, Hawaii.
He is survived by, his wife, France Willix; siblings, Joseph Willix and wife Carmen; son, Robert D. Willix, III and his wife Michelle Renee; daughter, Michelle Willix; son, Corey Willix and his wife Laurie; daughter, Kisten Hahn; son, Micah Willix and his wife Heather; nephews, Joseph Willix and Jeffrey Willix;
Grandchildren, Robert D. Willix, IV and his wife Alexandra, Chas Willix and his wife Elizabeth, Mason Willix, Jamie Willix, McKenzie Willix, Tucker Willix, Sydney Hahn, Tristan Hahn, Jaden Willix, Mia Willix and Layla Willix and a great grandson, Robert D. Willix, V.
Due to the Coronavirus, the family will hold a Celebration of Life Service for Dr. Willix at a later date.
