Paul M. Sullivan Jr, a beloved husband, father, friend and colleague to many passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 26th after a sudden battle with an aggressive cancer. He leaves behind his wife Linda, his son Brendan and nephew Thomas and joins his beloved daughter Veronica and both parents.
Paul was born in Boston, Mass, the son of Dorothea (Leary) and Paul Sullivan Sr. He graduated from Boston College High School before entering the Jesuit Order in 1961. While a Scholastic he received an A.B. degree in Classics from Boston College and a degree in Philosophy, a licentiate, from Berchmanskolleg in Pullach, Germany. Upon his return to the US he taught German at Fairfield Preparatory School in Connecticut and after putting in for a leave of absence from the Jesuit order he taught at Boston Latin School. During this time he met and married his wife Linda, he did not return to the Jesuit order.
Paul entered Northeastern University School of Law in Boston shortly after marrying Linda and received a J.D. degree in 1976. He and his wife then relocated to South Florida, where he practiced law for 46 years. He began exclusively representing ERISA claimants from 1987 onwards, he loved fighting for his clients and never represented insurance companies or employers.
He loved soccer and played well into his seventies. As a parishioner at St Paul of the Cross, he loved singing in the church choir. He had a deep love of music and swimming in the ocean.
He loved being a father and an adoring husband of 49 years. He will be deeply missed and his big laugh will be well remembered by his loved ones. His love, deep inquisitive nature, his kindness, wisdom and wit lives on in us.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL 33458. A memorial service will occur in the funeral home 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM. A committal service will follow at Riverside Memorial Park,19351 SE County Line Road, Tequesta, FL 33469.
