Pat was determined and driven, she went back to college, while still working, to pursue her Bachelor of Science degree from Barry University in Miami Florida, graduating in 1982 Summa Cum Laude. In 1984, Pat married Maurice “Moe” Joseph Gardner and together they started their new beginning, both of them were widowed prior to their marriage and were looking forward to having a life-long partner. Pat remained at Pratt & Whitney until she achieved her almost thirty-year milestone, Pratt & Whitney provided her with numerous opportunities for advancement and promotions. Upon her retirement in 1987, Pat was one of few women, less than one percent, who had earned a position in the prestigious Senior Management classification in the organization.
Moe decided to retire prior to Pat, but their dream was to spend their years traveling and spending time at their lakeside home in Vermont. In addition to traveling and spending summers in Vermont, Pat enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, fishing and spending holidays and time with her family.
