Jeanette was born in Newark, New Jersey to James and Mary McCrae who came to the United States from Dundee, Scotland. She had 4 siblings, all of whom predeceased her. Her father passed away when she was a child and Jeanette was faced with many challenges and adversity. Our Lord, Jesus Christ guided her through those tumultuous years keeping her close to Him.
Jeanette attended St. Columba’s Catholic School in Newark and at recess would walk across the street to the church. There she would say the rosary or the stations of the cross. She was taken out of class several times to fill in as a sponsor for a Baptism as she was so loved by the nuns and her spirit was true. Her faith was strong, she read the Bible and prayed daily for her family and friends throughout her lifetime. She wanted to become a nun but then met the love of her life, Henry. She was married to Henry, (Hank to those who knew him well), for 53 years before his passing in 2005.
Her voice was angelic and she enjoyed many years of singing in her high school years and as a senior in The Lake Ridge Chorus. She loved to walk, practice yoga, meditation and read. Her quiet ways, gift for listening and understanding, fantastic sense of humor and beautiful smile will be greatly missed. She was an extraordinary, loving and kind mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna Campesi and her husband Gian-Joseph and Janet Dlugosz; four grandchildren, Christopher Campesi and his wife Stacy, Eric Campesi and his wife Caroline, Samantha Beech and Tyler Beech; her great grandchildren, Alivianna, Nico, Rumi, Cairo and Sienna and she was also loved and included in the lives of the Perrella, Ulisse and entire Campesi Families.
May she be dancing with Henry in heaven.
