Harold Hayden Shafer

77, of Jupiter went to be with the Lord on July 4th, 2017 doing what he loved, fishing. Harold served his country in the US Navy. He was a member of Union Local 630 working as an air conditioner mechanic for over 50 years. He was a loving and devoted husband for over 57 years, a beloved father and grandfather who will be deeply missed. Harold was preceded in death by his granddaughter Sara and his parents Lawrence and Mae Shafer. He is survived by his loving wife Kathleen Shafer; daughters Babette Smith and husband Michael, Juliette Shafer and Hayley Harvey; grandchildren Michael Smith, Ashley Smith, Courtney Smith, Jessica Shafer, Chad Long, Crystal Long, Tyler Harvey and Brian Harvey; great grandchildren Hayden Long, Zoie Webb, Hattie Jo Smith, Parker Smith and Stella Smith; also survived by his siblings Helen Schwarber, Ronnie Denniston, Paul Denniston, Joy Cooper and husband Don, Peggy Castle and Linda Davies; brothers-in-law and sisters-in law James Bache and wife Glenys , Peggy Thies, Helen Chambers, Alice Fitzpatrick and husband Pete, Tina Scott and husband George, Laura Green and husband Frank, Eileen Rankin, and Mary Mancour; numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Beacon Baptist Church, 11616 W. Indiantown Rd., Jupiter, FL 33478 on Saturday, July 15th at 2PM.
