He is survived by his sister, Dolores McCloskey; four children and their respective (spouses), Kathleen and (Hank) Moeller, Theresa Ciambra, Dennis H. and (R. Terri) McSweeney, and Brendan and (Bridget) McSweeney; he was blessed with ten grandchildren, Brendan and Ryan Moeller, Shannon “Spanky” and Sean D. McSweeney, Rita and Charles Ciambra, Brendan, Terrence, Dylan and Katie McSweeney and six great-grandchildren, Brendan, Ailey, Keira, Luke, Axl, and Jaxson Moeller.
Dennis served in the U.S. Navy on the aircraft carrier USS Leyte during WWII. Continuing in a career of public service, he served four years as a NYS Trooper and thirty-two years for NYPD, retiring August 5, 1982 as Sergeant Detective.
Dennis and his late wife Theresa enjoyed spending time at their summer home at Wolf Lake upstate New York, in a home that Dennis F. built. They also enjoyed traveling to Florida and the US Virgin Islands.
Dennis enjoyed a full life. He was a hardworking man who instilled in his children and grandchildren, moral values, a strong work ethic, faith in God, and patriotic values. Moments that brought Dennis the most joy was spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed.

Funeral Arrangements:
Dennis F. McSweeney’s cremated remains will be committed at Holy Rood Cemetery on October 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. [Plot 139, Section 11, Row R]. Immediately following the committal ceremony at the cemetery, family and friends are invited to join a Celebration of Life Luncheon (approximately 12:00 noon), at Steve’s Piccola Bussola Italian Restaurant.
