David was born on March 2, 1964 in Melbourne, Florida to Gary and Josephine Spears. He moved with his family from the Melbourne area to Palm Beach Gardens in 1968. He grew up in Palm Beach County where he attended elementary, middle, and high school. He excelled at academics and athletics. He played football for The Benjamin High School and was a member of the 1979 team which played for the class 1A state championship. David graduated with honors from The Benjamin School in 1982. He attended Florida Atlantic University where he earned his computer engineering degree. He pursued various career interests including computer engineering, restaurant management, real estate, and automobile dealing.
David was loved by those who knew him. He was a loyal friend. He had a good sense of humor and a passion for life. He loved spending time with friends and family. He was also a dog lover and he enjoyed active pastimes such as fishing, diving, motocross, snow skiing and fitness. He pursued these pastimes with intensity often pushing it to his limits.
David will be greatly missed. Our lives are diminished with his passing but we still have many great memories.
In addition to his father Gary Spears, he is preceded in death by his uncle Reverend Doctor William MacLaurine Hall and aunt Margaret Ann MacLennan Hall. Survivors include his mother Josephine Spears, brother Neil Spears and his wife Cassie, nephews Garrett and Logan Spears, and girlfriend Gail Fulcher.
