He was born in Illinois and graduated from Carlinville High School in 1980. In 1985, Daryn graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale where he met and married his wife of 39 years, Kathryn Crouse.
He moved to Palm Beach Gardens and began his 38-year career at Merrill Lynch in August 1987. He was passionate about the relationships he built with clients and colleagues. He was dedicated, hard-working, and humble. As a leader he cared deeply about cultivating an atmosphere in which people knew they were supported and valued, with him you were seen and you were heard.
Daryn was always up for and all in for any challenge and thrived in the process of training to achieve the best outcome, failure would not be due to lack of effort. He enjoyed adventure, skiing, lifting, climbing mountains, the sound of a fast car or motorcycle, and tinkering on his beloved farm in Alto Pass. It never really mattered what he was doing, or where he was, as long as it was with the people he loved. For Daryn, family was everything and the line between family and friend was often invisible.
Daryn’s greatest treasures were his wife Kate, his sons, Spencer and Luke, and his nephews, Max and Michael. He had a work hard, play hard, love hard motto and he didn’t disappoint.
“HOW DO YOU SAY “THANK YOU” FOR SUNSHINE OR HEALTH…FOR CLEAR DAYS OR GENTLE RAINS…FOR HAPPINESS, JOY OR LOVE? YOU SAY IT BY SHARING WHAT YOU HAVE. YOU SAY IT BY MAKING THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE IN WHICH TO LIVE”
THOMAS D. WILLHITE
