His family moved to Chicago in the early 1950s where he was raised with his siblings, Charles, Bobby, and Dolores Jean. Danny became a member of the Structural Iron Workers Union Local 1 in 1960 and worked as an iron worker for over 30 years. In 1960, he met the love of his life, Rosetta Pantaleo, and they married in 1964. In 1965, they welcomed their son, Sam, into their family. Danny was a master of many things – fishing, golfing and making jewelry for Rosetta.
In 1975, they all embarked on their first of many adventures that would take them from Illinois to an Arizona ranch for a few years. In 1978, they returned to Harvard, Illinois, where they embarked on their next adventure. That adventure began with a news depot and candy store and grew into an ice cream parlor and game room. In 1985 they embarked on their next adventure when he and Rosetta bought a small bar and grill in Harvard, named it “The Sting”, built three additions and operated a very successful restaurant - Rosetta cooking and running the kitchen and Danny running the front of the house. In 1990 they bought a 15 acre farm right outside of town which they named “Backache Acres Farm” where Danny built a home and a barn for Rosetta so she could have the horses she loved so much. Danny and Rosetta also owned two “Hooters” restaurants, one in Bay City, Michigan, and one in Saginaw, Michigan.
In 2004, they retired and moved to Bay Colony in Juno Beach where they could be closer to their son. In retirement, Danny played golf and he and Rosetta devoted a lot of time and energy to managing the condo building they called home.
Danny is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Rosetta; his son, Sam and Sam’s fiancé, Linda of Palm Beach Gardens; his grandson, Tyler and Tyler’s wife, Sarah of Seattle, Washington; his great grandson, Colton; his brother, Bobby Anthony of Tennessee; his sister, Dolores Jean DeMalas of Vero Beach, Florida; his sister-in-law, Jeanette Urbinati and her husband, Bobby of Franklin Park, Illinois, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Cremation is private. A celebration of Danny’s life will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2022 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Aycock Funeral Home, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter.
