Dexter was always comically inquisitive and was affectionately known as the “class clown” and knew no stranger. He attended Meriwether County Schools and was a member of the Lamar County Comprehensive High School Class of 2000. Later, Dexter earned an Associate’s Degree in HVAC from Griffin Technical College.
On March 16, 2007, Dexter’s apple of his eye, his beloved son Tyler “TJ” Render was born. Dexter was a very proud father and was so proud of his baby boy. Dexter met and married the love of his life, the beautiful Ms. Anita Knox and affectionately loved her wholeheartedly until the day of his transition from this earthly realm.
Dexter believed in the value of hard work and the power of friendship. Dexter was employed at Adesa, Exela, and then later studied and became a pest control specialist with Gregory Pest Solutions where he was affectionately known by everyone he met. Dexter met no stranger and had so many friends who loved him.
Dexter was preceded in death by siblings, Lisa Maynard, Charlie Dean Render, Leslie Render, stepson Tremayne Knox and sister-in-law Sharon Crisler . He is survived by his loving family; wife Anita Render; son, Tyler “TJ” Render and step-children Dontrece Knox and Shuntarus Knox. Siblings Tammye (James) Hicks; Gloria (George) Ash; Randy (Valerie) Render; Jeffery (Cynthia) Render; Michael (Ginger) Price; Christopher (Monica) Render; Leslie (Earl) Simpson; Karen (Frank) Harper. Aunts Jacquelyn Jackson, Brenda Wimbush, Essie Mae Jackson, Debbie Jackson, Betty Ann Render, Dollie (Guy) Pope and Martha Jackson; Aunt(s)-in-law Errostine Knox, Cevellia Rosser, Patricia Knox Smith. Uncles Winfred Jackson, Jimmy Jackson & Shirome (Catherine) Render, mother-in-law Freddie Mae Knox, sisters-in-law Scarlett (Robert) Godfrey, Janet (Robert) Kirkland, Marvis (David) Bateman; brother(s) -in-law, Timothy Maynard, Elvis Crisler, Bobby Knox Jr., Marcus Knox, Christopher Knox, Cedric Lyons and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, step-grandchildren, co-workers and friends who considered him a “brother” and “friend”.
A visitation for Dexter will be held Friday, August 13, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Tara Garden Chapel, 681 North Avenue, Jonesboro, Georgia 30236. A funeral service will occur Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Legacy Christian Church, 1150 Rockaway Road, Senoia, Georgia 30276. An interment will occur at St. Paul Holliness Church, 25787 GA-85, Senoia, GA 30276.
