Scott was born to Barbara and Kenneth at the Bethesda Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. He was the son of a career navy man. He was predeceased by his grandparents, his father, Kenneth Harrison Guild, and his son, Justin Guild Allen. Scott leaves behind his daughter Brittany Guild, his mother Barbara (Charles) Stecz, siblings Mark (Lisa) Guild, Dawn (Tyler) Cesar, and Angela (Thomas) Mitalski.
He lived in many places throughout his life including East Syracuse, New York; Norfolk, Virginia; Long Beach, California; Arlington, Virginia; Vallejo, California; San Pedro, California; Montgomery, Alabama; Pensacola, Florida; Venice, Florida; and his favorite Key West, Florida.
In Key West he was active in the Boy Scouts of America, and became den chief for his mother’s Cub Scout Den. He was recognized by and became a member of the Order of the Arrow. In San Pedro, California, he started in little league and then continued when the family relocated to Key West. His team, coached by his father Kenneth, went to the State Championship in St. Petersburg, Florida. He loved baseball and showing his father how well he could do.
Scott was very ambitious and began working at a young age to save money for a motorbike and a jon boat. His strong work ethic continued his whole life. Many times, he was self-employed but found success in automotive sales. He worked in that field for several years, achieving top sales, at Pete Moore Chevrolet in Pensacola, Florida.
His greatest love and hobby was auto racing. He spent many Sundays watching NASCAR and following his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt Sr. and then Chase Elliot. He even had a few seasons running a car around Southern Raceway, winning often and having his name spelled wrong in the newspaper. He enjoyed anything with an engine that had the potential to go fast. He could drive anything -- speed boats, wave runners, motorcycles, 3-wheelers, ATVs, cars, trucks, mopeds, etc.
Scott was also a fantastic cook. He enjoyed grilling but could pretty much make anything taste good. If he was out and about, he always looked his best. If you were lucky, you witnessed him dancing on a table somewhere (table surfing).
Scott will be greatly missed by his friends and family all over the country.
A memorial service will be held September 16th, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville, Florida, 32205.
