Sarah Marie Baker, age 92, of Johnson City, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born in Piney Flats, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Lawrence Walter Feathers and Dimple Rachel Carr Feathers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, James Baker; one granddaughter, Heather Hilton Cutshall; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucille Humphreys and husband Clarence, and Louise Baker and husband Roy; three brothers-in-law, Guy Baker, Harry Baker, and Bill Baker; three sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Evalee Lyons and husband Conley, Gail Feathers, and Vivian Feathers.
Sarah was a member of Pleasant Valley Covenant Brethren Church and a former member of Hawthorne Covenant Brethren Church. She had worked at Steinway, Watauga Apparel, and for Doctors Vijay and Radhika Reddy. She enjoyed square dancing at the Johnson City Grand Squares, loved cooking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Becky Hilton and husband Don; one granddaughter, Laura Wright and husband Jordan; two grandsons, Dallas Hilton and wife Sarah, and Cody Hilton; nine great grandchildren, Isaac, Sam, Jackson, Ella, Gracie, Laynie, Ruthie, Asher, and Marley; two brothers, JD Feathers and Osler Feathers; sister-in-law, Linnis Baker; several nieces and nephews; extended family, Doctors Vijay and Radhika Reddy; bonus grandchildren, Vishaal and Anjali; along with many other Reddy family that she shared a very special bond with; and best friends, Jane and Dot.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 6, 2024 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Monte Vista Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 7:00PM with Pastor Don Hilton officiating. Committal Service and Interment will be held Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 12:00PM in the Garden of Light at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Isaac Cutshall, Sam Cutshall, Jordan Wright, Jackson Jessee, Dallas Hilton, John Feathers, and Cody Hilton.
The family would like to extend their thanks to nieces, Elena, Mary and Ruth Ann for all the love and care that was shown over the past months.
