Ronnie Verlin Curtis, age 85, of Johnson City, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at his residence. He was born in Washington County, Tennessee a son of the late JL Curtis and Louise Light Curtis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Pat Curtis; two brothers, Anthony “Tony” Curtis and Dr. Jack Curtis; father and mother-in-law, Carl C. Williams, Sr. and Evelyn Hammett Williams; and one brother-in-law, Dennis James Williams.
Ronnie was a member of East Unaka Christian Church where he served as an Elder, was Elder Emeritus and taught Sunday School. He taught in the Florida school system before returning to Johnson City to help his dad with the family business, Curtis Log Homes. He was a Bible Scholar, loved to read the Bible and other books. He loved to travel, collect art glass and eat Ice Cream which was his favorite.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Robin Fisher; children, Jay Curtis and wife Michelle, Denny Fisher and Chris Fisher; three grandchildren, Jessica Callahan and husband Stephen, Haley Curtis, and Michael Curtis; one sister and brother-in-law, Judy Copas and husband Norman; one sister-in-law, Van Curtis; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws, Carl C. Williams, Jr (Judy), and Gary “Mouse” Williams (Pam); one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Karen Taylor (David) all of Johnson City; and several nieces and nephews.
A Committal Service and Inurnment will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Sulphur Springs Cemetery, 152 Bayless Road, Jonesborough, TN with Dr. Wayne Emery officiating.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Blackmore, staff of Amedisys Hospice especially Allison and Shiree for all the love and care that was shown.
