John was born on October 21, 1940, in Johnson City, Tennessee to the late Robert Harry and Gladys Fulkerson Hannah. He grew up loving to hike, fish, and enjoy the outdoors. John graduated from Science Hill High School. From there he went on to East Tennessee State University where he received his BA Degree and then on to the University of Tennessee where he earned his MA in Planning. John married Martha Hanford Hannah on October 5th, 1974, bringing two families together and adding one of their own. John went to work for the Brevard County Florida Planning Department and later became the Development Coordinator for Brevard County. Among some of his proudest accomplishments were bringing parks and golf courses to the county along with subdivision regulations to protect and preserve the future environment. In 1989 he retired from Brevard County and ventured out on his own forming Hannah Development Group, Inc. Subsequently he developed numerous properties all over the state of Florida. He also spent 11 years in Branson, MO as a developer which included the Branson Creek Golf Course, Airport, etc.
In retirement, he was an avid golfer, loved cooking and EATING - a true Foodie. He loved to read and enjoyed his lunch groups with his friends.
John reaped the benefits of a loving blended family - Children: John "Chip" Hannah, Jr. of Titusville, FL; Scott Dubin (Carla) of Jacksonville, FL; Lisa Wren (Mike) of Tupelo, MS; Kurt Dubin of Orlando, FL; Pam Vance (Gerry) of Thompsons Station, TN; Ryan Hannah (Lindsey) of Lake Helen, FL. Grandchildren: Cody & Chase Dubin; Mary, Hannah, & Carly Vance; Steele Dubin; Rue & Marley Hannah. Preceded in death by his Sister, Helen Elliott, and her husband, Ray.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Garden Club, 5275 Sisson Road, Titusville on Tuesday, December 12th, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Committal Service and Interment will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 2:00PM in Section I at Monte Vista Memorial Park.
