James Wayne Hale, Jr., age 59, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 3, 2020 at Johnson City Medical Center. He was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, a son of James Wayne Hale, Sr. and Mary Estep Hale. He was preceded in death by one brother, David Hale; and one niece, Jennifer Hale.
Wayne had served in the National Guard for several years and was an employee of the American Water Heater Inc. for 25 years. He loved to hunt and fish, and attended Dyson Grove Baptist Church in Butler, TN.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 39 years, Karen Barnett Hale; one daughter, Angela Barnett; and two grandsons, Kenneth and Landon Searls.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Monte Vista Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Leonard Fletcher officiating. Committal Service and Interment will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 10, 2020 in the Vietnam Garden at Roselawn Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Keith Barnett, Steve Barnett, Tim Williams, Jeff Birchfield, and other friends. Honorary pallbearers will be McArthur Presnell and Lewis Welch.
