Ruth J. Titus

She was born September 19, 1917 in Jefferson, a daughter of the late Dr. Scott J. and Maude Dulany Titus.

Ms. Titus was a 1936 graduate of Jefferson Township High School.

She had worked as a hairdresser and was the medical assistant to the high school physician at Jefferson.

Ms. Titus had resided the last couple of years in the Evergreen Assisted Living Facility in Waynesburg.

She was a charter member of the Filer-Sadlek American Legion Post #954 Auxiliary of Jefferson and was protestant by faith.

Surviving are a brother, John E. Titus of Jefferson; a sister, C. Jane Titus of Pittsburgh; two nieces, Jeanne Hockenberry of Carmichaels and Cyndee Scott of Mars; two great nieces, Rachel Hockenberry and Tori Scott and a great-great nephew, Jayden Kerley.

Deceased are a sister, Marguerite Titus Brewer and a brother, Robert E. Titus.

A gather of friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, May 15, 2011, in the Behm Funeral Homes, Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2011 in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Donald P. Wilson officiating.
