James Richard Hines Sr., 93 of Monongahela, formerly of Crucible and Palmyra, went to be with his loving wife Virginia and the Lord on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
He was a graduate of Beth Center High School and worked as a steel-worker for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel.
He was married to Virginia Ruth McConnell for over fifty-six years before her passing on May 21, 2008.
Originally from Denbo, “Jim” enjoyed hunting and fishing but most of all growing flowers and vegetables. For years Jim brought great pleasure to his friends at the Palmview Apartments in Palmyra, decorating the complex every summer with the flowers he grew from seed.
Surviving Jim are his daughter Deborah L. Ashton (Dave) of Monongahela; sons James Hines Jr. of Carmichaels and John T. Hines (Amy) of Palmyra; three grandchildren Danelle Jordan, Alexis King, and Matthew T Hines.
