She was born November 20, 1938 in Benson, NC, a daughter of the late Willie and Pearl Clifton Barbour.
Mrs. Tretinik had a southern upbringing and graduated from Four Oaks High School in NC.
She met her husband, Paul George Tretinik, who died October 25, 2007, while he was serving in the armed forces and they were married on April 6, 1958.
Mrs. Tretinik was a homemaker and a beautician. She was a very loving and compassionate person who devoted her life to caring for her children and grandchildren, on her family farm.
She was a faithful member of Pitt Gas Missionary Church, where she was a woman of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Christ’s love and the beauty and peace that would await her after her passing.
Surviving are six children and their spouses, Angela Spitznogle and her husband Charles of Waynesburg, Sharon Bates and her husband Gerald of Clarksville, Karen Cappellini and her husband Gene of Clarksville, Carol Spitznogle and her husband Jeff of Clarksville, Paul Tretinik and his wife Shauna of Waynesburg, and Melanie McAnany and her husband John of Clarksville; two sisters, Betty Sue McGee of Raleigh, NC and Hilda Douglas of Angier, NC; 15 grandchildren, Ryan Bates, Shannon Bates, Jeremy Estle and his wife Rachel, Brian Estle, Brandee Kozich and her husband Lee, Brittany Spitznogle, Nathan Spitznogle and his fiancé Brittany Bogumet, Alyssa Spitznogle, Timothy Spitznogle, Darren Tretinik, Jacob Tretinik, Kaylin Tretinik, Brandon Tretinik, Amber McAnany, and Adam McAnany; four great grandchildren, Emily Riley, Addison Spitznogle, Lacey Braddock, and Damien Estle; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are, two sisters, Tine Byrd and Shelby Lee; and a brother, Ayden Barbour.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, in the Behm Funeral Homes Inc.1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where services will held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2015 with Pastor Carl Leipold officiating. Entombment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg.
