She was born February 4, 1932 in Blawnox, a daughter of the late Theodore A. and Grace Watson Smith.
Estelle was a 1951 graduate of Aspinwall High School.
She was a homemaker and an avid animal lover.
In 1945 she received the Animal Rescue League’s, Be Kind Trophy, and a key to the City of Pittsburgh.
Estelle was a member of the Jefferson United Methodist Church, Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary-chairwoman, Woman’s Golf Association back in the 1970’s, Greene County Humane Society.
On August 4, 1951 she married Alan L. “Rip” Jenkins, who died August 14, 2020.
Surviving are four children, Sharon (Donald) Wood of Jefferson, David (Sarah) Jenkins of Canonsburg, Gail (James-deceased) Bowden of Jefferson and Valerie (Norm) Strimel of Waynesburg; 10 grandchildren, Brian Wood, Dawn Wood, Julie Murphy, Jesse Jenkins, Renee Kovach, Jim Bowden, Melinda Bowden, Joe Belford, Devon Belford, and Casey Belford; 16 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; a brother, Theodore Smith of Glenshaw.
Deceased are a grandson, Dwayne Bowden; a brother, John H. Smith.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 6 to 8 pm, in the Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Rd., Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. Kevin Roberts, officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson.
