Nelda Smith Gunter

Family will be receiving friends on Monday, Sept. 30, 2024, from 3 until 4 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Service will follow at 4 p.m. in the Kilgore-Green Chapel. Levi Sides and Roy Williams will officiate.

Nelda was a graduate of Walker County High School in 1958. She was a member of the Sixth Ave. Church of Christ and loved her church family dearly. Nelda loved cooking, baking and canning. She was known for her salsa, pepper jelly and fresh apple cake. Nelda enjoyed going to estate sales and collecting glassware, especially Fenton.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harold D. Smith and Harold Gunter; parents, Renon Trice and Inez Wheeler Trice; brother, Jim Trice (Evelyn); and great niece, Lily Frances Trice.

She is survived by her daughter, Pam Smith; nephews, Chris Luhar-Trice (Neha) and John Trice (Stephanie); great-niece, Charlotte Trice; stepchildren, Darlene Nix, JR Gunter, Kim Mann and Mack Gunter; beloved pet, Mr. G; and a host of cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Monday Meals at Sixth Ave. Church of Christ, 1501 Sixth Ave. S., Jasper, AL 35501.
