Mrs. Janelle Baughns

Her family will be receiving friends on Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 10 until 11 a.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., in the Kilgore-Green Chapel, at 11 a.m., burial will be at Old Prospect Cemetery.

Janelle was an active member at Old Prospect Methodist Church her entire life. She worked for Walker County Board of Education for 26 years. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elton G. Baughns; sons, Wayne Baughns, Steve Baughns, and Gary Baughns; grandson, Lawrence Wayne Baughns; parents, Fredrick and Maude Smith; brothers, Clyde Smith, Clayton Smith and Bruce Smith; sisters, Mildred Davies, Marie Ferguson, Elsie O’Rear, Inez Burt, Ruby Swindle, Laura Lou Hawk and Davelene Powless; and daughter-in-law, Velenna Baughns.

She is survived by her granddaughters, Christi Kimbrell (Anthony) and Denna Baughns; great grandchildren, Austin Bennett, Lindsay Bennett, Abby Hallman, Allie Hallman, Ansleigh Miller and Beau Baughns; great great grandchildren, Ms. Oakleigh Grace Hardeman; dear friends, Gary and Janice Kilgore, and a host of other relatives and friends.
