Brenda Townsend Gray

June 8, 1942 – March 21, 2025

Brenda Lou Townsend Gray, 82, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gurtis and Callie Townsend, and her firstborn son, Brent Gray.

Brenda was the devoted wife of George “Buddy” Gray, with whom she shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. She was a loving mother to Stephen Gray and Suzanne Moore (Jeff) and a cherished grandmother (“GiGi”) to Abby Moore, Luke Moore, Townsend Gray, and Walker Gray.

She touched the lives of all who knew her. Whether through her warm hospitality, unwavering faith, or gentle encouragement, she made everyone feel valued and loved. Her legacy of love, laughter and a life well-lived will forever be in the hearts of family and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday at First Baptist Church of Birmingham, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and the service at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter.
