William Harold Blount (Bill), 76, passed away at St. Vincent’s Hospital from Congestive Heart Failure on Thursday, December 27, 2012. He was born on January 8, 1936 in Jacksonville, FL to parents, Lonnie W. and Ruby A. Blount. William served and worked full time for the Florida National Guard. He retired as CWO3 serving from July 11, 1955 to August 26, 1988. At retirement he was serving in the 146th Signal Battalion. For the last 35 years, he and his 2 brother-in-laws (Al and Nick) have been owners of Union 700 Warehouse. He is a graduate from Robert E. Lee High School and Jacksonville Junior College (JJC). He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen Neal Blount, whom he loved dearly; son, Michel Scott Blount and wife, Susan; granddaughter, Helen Eileen, his precious angel; 2 sisters, Gloria Rhoden, husband Al, and Jackie Nicoli, husband Guido (Nick); including many other loving family members. The family visitation to greet friends will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012 from 10:00am until 10:45am at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL. 32205. Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 11:00am, at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery of Jacksonville, FL. Burial will be at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please send a donation to The Salvation Army, 900 West Adams St., Jacksonville, FL. 32202.
