Wayne served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1952-1956. He was a drywall contractor for over 40 years in Jacksonville. After retiring from his own business he returned to work again at W.W. Gay Construction. Wayne moved to Blackshear, Georgia after retiring a second time. There he lived with his family for nearly 18 years until his death.
Wayne was a member of the Florida Carpenters Union local 702, a member of American Legion 283 and a lifelong Baptist.
Wayne is predeceased by his parents Earl and Ethel Ramsey of Arkansas and oldest son, Roger Wynne Ramsey. He is survived by his two sisters, Kay Ramsey Cleghorn and Norma Ramsey Davis both of Arkansas, also his children, Carolyn Ramsey Abbott, Mark Ramsey, and Sherry Langione. He also leaves behind his loving granddaughter, Michelle Ramsey. The only child of his son, Roger Wynne. Along with many other grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service for Wayne will be held Monday, September 20, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
